Awagawan
For eons I have been trapped
on this carousel of illusions
riding painted horses
mistaking them for passionate steeds
unicorns of truth
Mechanical music of amusements
enthralled my ears
plugging them to shabda sounds
that ring out from the heart
of the universes, bidding me ride them
back to centre and source
One day in a cadence of this carnival
I slipped through a rest in the music
and heard the shabda dhun
It revealed vistas
and heavens hitherto unknown
sounds of ethereal beauty
lifting me to edges of understanding
Back on the carousel
wracked with longing
for my widened consciousness
I was filled with desire to encash my
tickets -
season tickets for carnival amusements
on a demeaned merry-go-round
of tinselled enjoyments
The ride is ending slowly
The music of the spheres
supplants the music of the carnival
On the path of Spirit
in the sound of Love
a wave creates a pathway home
to the heart of God
